When I graduated from preschool many years ago and my teacher asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I told her confidently “a mom with five babies.” While I don’t have five babies (yet!) I am pleased to report that I did in fact become a mom when I grew up. It was what I always wanted. As often happens in life, however, things don’t always go exactly as we plan them. I did become a mom in 2010 but I worked A LOT. For the first five years of my daughter’s life I spent 50+ hours a week working outside the home to pay off my student loan debt (which is on no one but me.) While I have the greatest respect for women in the workforce this is not what I wanted or how I envisioned the early years with my children. It really crushed me. My heart wanted time with my littles and time was the thing that seemed to be slipping away the fastest. Thankfully this is not how my story ends. God provided in just the right way at just the right time so that after the birth of kiddo #3 I was able to “retire” and finally spend the additional time with my children that I had been craving. Now I’m on a mission to leave a legacy of love by spending quality and intentional time with my kids! Time is fleeting and I believe the little moments that we have matter. No matter what stage or situation you are in motherhood my mission is to help you spend quality time with your family and create a legacy of meaningful memories. I believe one of the best ways to do this is through reading with your kids but I have some other ideas I’m passionate about as well! Check out my website for ideas that have helped me and I’m hopeful will bless your family as well.
